Double Eyelid Surgery & Eyelid Surgery

Customized to Your Eyelid Structure —
Create Your Ideal Eye Shape

Double eyelid surgery is a cosmetic procedure designed to create a naturally defined eyelid crease.
The two most common techniques are the non-incisional method,
which uses sutures to form the crease, and the incisional method,
which involves adjusting the skin and fat to achieve a more permanent result.

The non-incisional method does not require a scalpel, offers minimal downtime,
and is ideal for those undergoing eyelid surgery for the first time.
In contrast, the incisional method is suitable for individuals concerned with excess skin or fat on the eyelids,
and it offers more long-lasting results.

Non-Incisional Double Eyelid Surgery

Non-incisional double eyelid surgery is a cosmetic procedure that creates a natural-looking crease by using sutures to secure the eyelid. The procedure takes about 10 minutes and is a popular “petit surgery” among teens and people in their 20s due to its affordability and minimal downtime. Since it doesn’t involve cutting the skin, recovery is faster compared to incisional methods, making it ideal for those who find daily double eyelid makeup time-consuming. One of the key benefits is that the sutures can be removed at any time, allowing the eyelids to return to their original state.

Double Incisional Eyelid Surgery

Double incisional eyelid surgery is a procedure that creates a long-lasting double eyelid by making an incision in the eyelid skin. There are two main techniques: full incision and partial incision. The choice depends on your desired eyelid shape, crease width, and the condition of your eyelids. By making an incision along the desired eyelid line, this method offers a highly customizable and defined eye appearance.

Levator Advancement (Quick Eye Enlargement Technique)

Levator Advancement (Quick Eye Enlargement Technique) is a non-incisional procedure that enhances eye openness by tightening or repositioning the levator muscle, which lifts the upper eyelid. This creates a larger-looking eye without the need for cutting. For individuals with monolids, it forms a natural double eyelid. For those with existing double eyelids, it deepens the crease, resulting in a more defined and noticeable fold.

Ptosis Correction Surgery (Incisional Method)

Ptosis is a condition where the upper eyelid cannot fully open due to weakened levator muscle function. This surgery improves eyelid opening by repairing the thinning of the levator aponeurosis and its loosened connection to the tarsal plate, while also removing anatomical structures that hinder proper muscle contraction.

Standard

Medial Canthoplasty

Medial canthoplasty is a surgical procedure that enlarges the eyes by removing the epicanthal fold (Mongolian fold) at the inner corners of the eyes. This fold can make the eyes appear smaller or sharper in expression. By incising the inner corners, the eyes can appear wider and more refined. The procedure also reduces the distance between the eyes, making it suitable for those concerned about wide-set eyes.

Standard

¥83,600

Procedure Name:Medial Canthoplasty

Description:A few millimeters of skin are removed from the inner corners of the eyes to bring the eyes closer together and create a more open and defined appearance.

Side Effects (Risks):Swelling, pain, bruising, scarring, and redness may last from 3 days to 3 months.

Rare Side Effects (Risks):Bleeding.

Price:¥83,600 ~ ¥354,500

Lateral Canthoplasty

Lateral canthoplasty is a surgical procedure that enlarges the eyes horizontally by incising the outer corners. It creates an elongated eye shape and helps balance upward- or downward-slanting eyes. By expanding the visible white area outward, the eyes appear bigger and more attractive. The procedure can also reduce the distance between the outer corners of the eyes and the temples, offering a subtle facial slimming effect.

Tear Trough Filler (Hyaluronic Acid Injection)

Tear trough filler is a procedure that enhances the under-eye area by injecting hyaluronic acid into the lower eyelid to create a fuller, more youthful-looking tear line. The procedure takes about 5 minutes and involves minimal downtime. Swelling or bruising may occur as a side effect, but it typically subsides within a few days.

Glamorous Line Surgery (Downturned Eye Surgery)

Glamorous line surgery creates a downturned, gentle eye shape by lowering the outer third of the lower eyelid to expose more of the sclera (white of the eye). This gives the eyes a softer, more relaxed appearance. There are three approaches to this procedure: non-incisional suture technique, incisional surgery, and Botox injection.

Upper Eyelid Fat Removal

This procedure is often performed together with double eyelid surgery. A small incision—about 2 mm—is made without cutting the eyelid, allowing fat to be removed with minimal swelling or bruising. It helps reduce puffiness in the upper eyelids and creates a clearer, more open eye appearance.

FAQ
Double Eyelid & Eye Area Surgery

I’m experiencing bleeding around my eyes after undergoing the buried suture method. What should I do?

First, apply gentle pressure with gauze for a few minutes to see if the bleeding stops. If it continues, please contact clinic for assistance.

Is it safe to wear contact lenses right after double eyelid surgery?

We generally advise against wearing contact lenses immediately after the procedure, as there is a risk of infection through the incision sites on the eyelids.

I had double eyelid surgery using the buried suture method, but I sometimes feel a stinging sensation. Is this kind of discomfort normal?

Mild discomfort or a slight stinging sensation is not uncommon after the buried suture method. In most cases, it subsides over time.

Even though I’m getting enough sleep, my eyelids feel heavy and it’s hard to keep my eyes open. Could this be due to eye strain? What should I do?

While eye strain could be a factor, your symptoms may also be related to ptosis (drooping eyelids). We recommend seeking a medical evaluation for an accurate diagnosis.

My eyelids feel heavy, and my eyelashes seem buried. What procedures can make the base of my lashes more visible?

Depending on the underlying cause, options may include double eyelid surgery, ptosis correction, or fat removal from the eyelids. The most suitable treatment will vary based on the specific reason for the heaviness.

I’ve heard that bruising around the eyelids can occur after double eyelid surgery. Is there a way to speed up recovery?

Recovery varies from person to person, but applying a cold compress to the area and keeping your head elevated while sleeping—such as using a high pillow—may help reduce bruising and swelling.
